Kia comes to the Harvard Teacher Fellows after studying History and Literature. As a Fellow, Kia taught tenth-grade Constitutional Law, which was designed to help students understand their rights and social injustice, and to develop the analytical, rhetorical, and writing skills to think like lawyers. Kia hopes to gain more understanding of the teaching craft and determine what is stopping us from effectively serving all of our students in this country. Most importantly, she wants to learn what motivates and drives her students.
Kia is currently teaching 6th-8th grade ELA at Harlem Academy in Harlem, NYC.
