Melanie Slone graduated in 2017 with an A.B. in Psychology. While at Harvard, she served as the co-president of Student Mental Health Liaisons, a peer education group that aims to promote awareness of mental health resources on campus and decrease stigma attached to seeking help. Melanie was also proud to work for two years with Crimson Summer Academy, a year-round enrichment program for high-achieving students who come from low-income backgrounds and attend Boston public high schools. During her time with CSA, she was able to foster and deepen her love for teaching and forming meaningful relationships with scholars. She will be teaching Chemistry at Uplift Peak Preparatory High School in Dallas, TX. She looks forward to developing a deeper understanding with her students about how scientific knowledge is created and how it can be used to understand and create positive changes in our society.
