Who we’re looking for
The ideal applicant to HTF will bring a willingness to grow and learn from others, a desire to contribute to a supportive learning community, and a commitment to social justice and serving students in high-needs schools. We also look for an outstanding academic record, strong content preparation in the subject area to be taught, and prior experiences related to education.
Who can apply
At this time, Harvard Teacher Fellows is only open to Harvard College seniors and alumni. Alumni who are admitted will follow the same schedule as Harvard College seniors, which requires beginning the program during the spring term (see Training Overview). Because HTF is primarily a teacher licensure program, anyone who has already earned their teaching license through Harvard UTEP or other licensure programs is not eligible to apply to HTF-they may pursue an Ed.M through HGSE's Teacher Education Program.
Non-U.S. citizens or permanent residents are welcome to apply to HTF, but should be aware of the potential for significant immigration obstacles. Prior to submitting an application, international applicants should discuss their individual circumstances with Maureen Martin at the Harvard International Office.
