Teaching Residency: Constitutional Law, Urban Assembly School of Law and Justice-NYC
Interests: creative writing, literature, history, social justice
Kia comes to the Harvard Teacher Fellows after studying History and Literature. As a Fellow, she will be working at the Urban Assembly School of Law and Justice in Brooklyn, New York. Kia will be teaching tenth-grade Constitutional Law which is designed to help students understand their rights and social injustice, and to develop the analytical, rhetorical, and writing skills to think like lawyers. Kia hopes to gain more understanding of the teaching craft and determine what is stopping us from effectively serving all of our students in this country. Most importantly, she wants to learn what motivates and drives her students.
